The Old Salem Museum & Gardens boasts of a unique set of attractions, including various original museum buildings, antique collections, landscaped gardens, trade shows, and excellent shopping opportunities.

At the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts or MESDA, visitors will be treated to a dozen gallery rooms that house decorative art exhibits from three early South regions: the Backcountry, the Low Country, and the Chesapeake.

The museum?s gardens, on the other hand, are part of one of the country?s top garden restoration projects. There are several gardens to explore at the site: the Vogler Garden, the Single Brothers? Garden, the Triebel Garden, and the Gardens of Salt Street.

Last but not the least, visitors should make reservations in advance to enjoy a guided tour through the Town of Salem, with its authentic gardens and historic buildings. Visitors would be delighted to see costumed actors and actresses in authentic 18th & 19th century clothing to better portray the lifestyle in Old Salem.
