The Ole Gilliam Mill is a historic site in Sanford, North Carolina. It is a reproduction of the 1850 mill that once stood and operated in the area.

Mills are excellent historical markers in the country. They are some of the earliest economic indicators of an area?s growth, as these things have always been built before any other thing else in a community. It trumps the importance of schools, churches, or even government buildings.

The Ole Gilliam Mill serviced the area from its completion up until 1928, when it was washed away by flood. The current mill is a faithful reproduction of the old mill. It was reconstructed using old mills? parts that are recovered from the region. It is available for tours and rentals. Events are also commonly held on the site.
