Parkway Playhouse is a performance space in Burnsville, North Carolina. It is best known for being the oldest continually operating summer theater in the state of North Carolina.

Established in 1947 by William Raymond Taylor, a drama professor at the Woman?s College of North Carolina (now known as the University of North Carolina-Greensboro) as the Burnsville Playhouse and School of Dramatic Arts, the Parkway Playhouse is actually the first of its kind in the entire Southern region. He planned the courses to be given at the playhouse as well as the conversion of the old Burnsville High School gymnasium to a well equipped theatre. It was renamed in 1979.

Today, the Parkway Playhouse continues to host and stage summer productions according to its age old traditions.
