The Roanoke/Cashie River Center is a nature center in Windsor, North Carolina, located on the banks of the Cashie River. Established in the year 2000, the site offers a wide range of activities that aim to promote the public’s awareness and knowledge of the natural area in the lower Roanoke River region.
The Roanoke/Cashie River Center presents a good number of indoor and outdoor attractions like special displays regarding the neotropical migratory songbirds, historic artifacts, an exhibit about the native wild turkey, a beehive display, diorama of bottomland habitats in the area, informative wetland ponds, a natural area which can be used for picnicking, canoe and kayak rentals, an ampitheater, and a boardwalk among many others. The center also regularly hosts events.
