The Rowan Museum is a local history museum in Salisbury, North Carolina. Housed in the beautiful and historic 1854 courthouse, it chronicles the colorful past and history of the Rowan County.

The Rowan Museum was founded in 1953 to collect, preserve, and exhibit the historical items that are pertinent and relevant to the chronicling of the history of the County of Rowan. Even its building is a part of the whole historic charm. The old courthouse is one of the finest examples of the finest antebellum architecture in the state and is one of the few that survived the Stoneman’s Raid in 1865. It houses a series of displays and collections that tell of the great story of the area.
