The Tryon Toy-Makers? House Museum is a history museum in Tryon, North Carolina. It is focused on the colorful past and heritage of the Tryon Toy-Makers & Wood-Carvers, a local toy making and woodworks company.
The Tryon Toy-Makers & Wood-Carvers operated from 1915 to 1940. They produced wooden figures that are based on classic nursery rhymes, as well as mantles, furniture, church altars, and other wooden items. Most of the products were based n European designs, but it is said that most of the workers have also practiced their own crafts while working here.
The building wherein the Tryon Toy-Makers? House Museum is situated is the company?s old retail showroom. It was built in 1925 and has been transformed into a museum showcasing the historic items related to the business.
