The Walter B. Jones Sr. Center for the Sounds is an educational facility located in Columbia, North Carolina. It is all about the area?s rich ecology, telling of the pocosins and blackwater rivers that tells a lot about the northern Albemarle-Pamlico Peninsula.

The Walter B. Jones Sr. Center for the Sounds also serves as a headquarters of the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. It presents exhibits about the site and also shows a ten minute film that shares a lot of information about the Pocosin wildlife and environment. Tours are also very informative and the site is very scenic.

The Walter B. Jones Sr. Center is open year round. However, their operating hours vary depending on the season, so check in advance before heading out.
