The Chateau De Mores Historic Site serves as a memorial to the Marquis de Mores Antoine de Vallombrosa and his activities. Having arrived in 1883, his enterprises included a beef packing plant, a freighting company, a stagecoach line, cattle and sheep raising, refrigerated railway cars, land ownership, and Medora, a new town named after his wife.

The structure, built in 1883, has 26 rooms and 2 stories. It was the Marquis Family?s Summer Residence. Today, it is a historic house museum that contains many of the furnishing that were originally owned by the Mores Family. The house is open during summer with a certain charge for admission. The Museum also offers school and commercial bus tours for a more interactive experience.
