The Dickinson Museum Center features several sites that promote the history and culture of southwestern North Dakota. This art and history museum houses the Joachim Regional Museum, the Prairie Outpost Park, and the Historic Preservation Commission.
The Joachim Regional Museum, which is the main building, houses exhibits that emphasize on the regional significance of the region. It houses the Osborn Reading and Research Room as well as the offices for the staff. The Prairie Outpost Park boasts of 5 historic and 6 reproduction buildings. It offers free tours on certain period throughout the year. It also provides an appropriate venue for special events like weddings and funerals.
The Czech, Scandinavian, and Germans from Russia heritage organizations also host events within the park.
