The National Buffalo Museum, with its bison herds, is one of the main reasons why Jamestown City is fondly known as “Bison City”.

In Jamestown ND Buffalo Museum, visitors would be treated with various exhibits that revolve around the bison’s history and other related subjects. Besides the prehistoric remains of a bison, you’ll also see other artefacts such as the weaponry bison hunters used in the 19th century as well as many other types of Plains Indian artefacts. When you visit the Children’s Room, you’ll be treated with a video presentation about bison history as well as exhibits that showcase the state’s wildlife.

Before you leave, make sure you visit the live herds that are under the care of the National Buffalo Foundation; in 2008, they were blessed with the birth of Dakota Miracle, an albino bison or “white buffalo”.

A related attraction you may also enjoy seeing would be Buffalo National Park in Canada. Certainly, the Buffalo Museum of Science would also be worth paying a visit.
