The North Dakota State Fair is a 9-day yearly state fair that is held every July at the North Dakota State Fair Center. It is located at East Minot down Burdick Expressway and popularly branded as the ?Entertainment Capital of North Dakota?. It is also the biggest event venue in the state.
It was first celebrated in 1922 but only formally recognized by the local government only in 1966. Since then, it has become the biggest happening in the state featuring 10 stages of free star-studded entertainment, thousands of various exhibits, livestock shows, a carnival, an auto show, 3 rodeo nights, 600 vendors and other special games. Every year, it attracts an estimate of 250,000 people. In 2010, the North Dakota State Fair was able to set a new record for having more than 308,000 patrons attending the event.
