The Steele County Museum is a historical museum offering its archives and cultural center that represents the early 1900?s. It began with the Historical Steel County Society, a group that first gathered to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Hope. Soon it became a countywide organization in 1966 and as it developed over time, it now operates as the historical museum.

The pieces and artifacts in the Museum?s collections were donated by the people of the county. This includes the home, school, church, lodge furnishings, sleighs, buggies, vintage clothing, needlework, store merchandise, family histories, journals, toys and dolls, newspapers, musical instruments, farm implements, windmills, looms, and so much more.

Guided tours are offered as well as assistance to historical research. There are also workshops and weaving demonstrations to further server the interests of the people.
