The Whitestone Hill State Historic Site is a spot that marks the very clash of the Indians and the white soldiers in the past in the state of North Dakota. At present moment, it presents a section of the said battlefield with a tiny museum that features exhibits that explain the expeditions of Sibley and Sully way back in 1863.
The museum caught fire last 2009 and was renovated to once again be up and be experienced by numerous visitors. It is also the place where you can find two monuments that honor the Indians and white soldiers who fell dead during the war. It is open for free but it is open towards those who are willing to give donations for the maintenance of the place.
