The Ohio Caverns are considered to be one of the most popular attractions in the state due to the unique cave formations and features found within the site. Temperature within the caverns remains at 54 degrees throughout the year and are unaffected by surface temperature.

The Ohio Caverns are the largest of their kind in the state, boasting of a maximum depth of 103 feet for their surveyed passageways. Experts are still in disagreement as to how old the caves are, but it would be safe to assume that the Columbus Grey Limestone found in the caverns are over 400 million years of age while the oldest crystal found within the site is approximately 250,000 years of age.

At the site, visitors may not only enjoy historical tours through the caves but also participate in gem and fossil mining activities. The place is also available for rent for weddings and other such events.
