Originally built in 1834, the Old Stone Church is one of the oldest buildings on Cleveland?s Public Square. A Presbyterian Church created by the first congregation in the area, it is the second church that is situated inside the city limits.

Today?s Old Stone Church is a reconstructed and expanded version of the first building. As the first congregation grew in number, the original church needed to be enlarged to accommodate everyone. The one that can be found on Cleveland nowadays was built in 1953 and reconstructed multiple times in answer to the series of fire that has continuously damaged the church all throughout history.

Another notable thing about the Old Stone Church is that it is the last remaining church that has been designed by Heard and Porter architectural firm. It was listed in 1973 in the National Register of Historic Places.
