The Sandusky Library incorporates its archival research center and local history museum in the former residence of Oran Follett, which was constructed in 1834 to 1837. The Library also complements the Museum which features fine artifacts, photos, letters, diaries, and drawings from Johnson?s Island Prison.
The house where the Library is housed uses a Greek Revival style of architecture and it features a widow?s walk where one can enjoy a panoramic view of Sandusky with Johnson?s Island and Cedar Point from afar.

The Sandusky Library is among the National Register of Historic Landmarks. The library is funded with fraction from the state income tax and from the property tax in Sandusky, Perkins Township, and Kelleys Island.

The Library is open to the public from Monday to Saturday.
