The Hinton Historical Museum features items that depict the local and state history of Oklahoma. It provides people information about the lifestyle of the area?s early settlers starting from the late 1800?s. The Museum houses the largest horse carriage collection in the state as well as the 3rd largest collection of barbwire collection. The Museum?s exhibits feature clothing, home furnishings, photographs, switchboards, antique phones, radios, American Indian ceremonial items, and many other pioneer items for the early days of Oklahoma.

The Hinton Historical Museum also allows its visitors to view the development and progression of washing machines that includes a scrub board and a wringer washer. The Museum is home to 7 antique cars ranging from a 1903 Oldsmobile to a Model TS and Edsels and bicycles, 19060?s models, and an 1870?s high-wheel.

The Museum utilizes different medium of presentations and displays such as a daily photo presentation of the California Road. Visitors would also be able to hear the story of how the Rock Mary mound got its name from the first immigrant party who traveled the southern route to California.
