Kaw Lake is a recreational area that offers water sports and camping trips. This area is an ideal location for group tours and team building events.

There are lots of attractions that you will find in Kaw Lake. For instance, there is the 11,000-foot long dam and a 121-feet spillway rise that links the Oklahoma shoreline. The lake is considered as a ?nature?s playground? since there are business establishments that offer water sports such as boating, skiing, fishing, lake surfing and other kinds of water recreational activities.

The Kaw Lake is not limited only to water sports because it also has public campgrounds for those interested to stay for a night or two. These camps sites are already equipped with water and electricity. Staying at the campgrounds for a week or so is also allowed by renting the privately owned campgrounds by contacting a few of the Corps campgrounds near Kaw Lake. For comfortable stay, there are also cabins available that can accommodate up to 10 people each.

For those who fancy fishing will surely enjoy their visit at Kaw Lake, catching catfish of various sizes. There are several ships and boat ramps around the lake to use for fishing. Also, there are areas near the lake where family and friends can enjoy hiking, go horseback riding and mountain biking. Kaw Lake offers various activities for all seasons - during winter, visitors will have more luck viewing some nesting eagles, have fishing during summer and go hunting during fall.

Visitors should not limit themselves to Kaw Lake since there are other destinations that are worth dropping by as well. One is the Kaw City Mueum, where it showcases the rich history of the town and displays historical artifacts. The old Santa Fe Railroad Depot is also housed in the museum. Another attraction is the South Wind, a metal sculpture that overlooks the Kaw City area.
