The Krebs Heritage Museum was established for the preservation of the rich heritage and history of the Krebs, Indian Territory/Oklahoma area. In doing so, it also aims to fulfill the provision of a place that offers pleasure and education for the current and future generations. It is dedicated to the preservation of the Native Americans and immigrants? physical legacy as well as their experiences, and other stories and objects that helped the development of the area as Krebs and its surrounding areas. It collects and displays pieces that are related to the social, economic, and technical events that have shaped the lives of the people in the community as well as the latter Oklahoma and the Southeastern region of Indian Territory.

The Krebs Heritage Museum was built by the Krebs Historical Society and it started operating in 1996. Even today, the society, which has overseen the restoration of the city?s vintage signs and old landmarks and assists in operating the Museum, uses it as a meeting place. The Museum was also made possible with the help of numerous dedicated and determined volunteers.
