Lake Murray State Park is considered to be the oldest and the largest park of Oklahoma, encompassing 12,500 acres. The park features a number of historic sites and various trails. Aside from these, Lake Murray State Park is also known for its diverse water activities such as scuba diving, boating, fishing and a myriad of water sports. Because of this, the park has become one of the ideal destinations for water sports enthusiasts.

The park also boasts a number of ancient structures that puts it on the rank among the top tourist spots of Oklahoma. One of the historic structures that visitors get to see is the Tucker Tower Nature Center which displays the history of the site, exhibits several artifacts and a number of education programs performed by the state park environmentalist.

The Lake Murray State Park also has a number of facilities like bait and tackle shop, remote control airfield, swimming pool and beach, airstrip, small boat with rentals, Frisbee golf and a mini golf course. Located in the park is the Lake Murray Lodge, which is comprised of 52 guest rooms and suites with 56 cabins. Many of these cabins are momentous constructions created by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1930?s. The lodge is offering rooms for corporate meetings, the Apple Bin restaurant and Parlor Lounge to enjoy good music, food and drinks.

Horseback riding, camping, golfing, hiking, rollerblading and hayrides are just some of the outdoor activities that visitors can enjoy in the Lake Murray State Park. Sport facilities include softball fields, baseball diamond, tennis courts, volleyball and badminton nets. All over the lake are several tent sites with restrooms and showers too.
