Oklahoma is one of the so-called ?Old Wild West? regions. The history of cattle ranching and cowboys is evident in the famous rodeo show tours. The place where this shows started is the 101 Ranch, home of the 101 Ranch Wild West Show.

Also known as Miller Brothers 101 Ranch, this 110,000-acre cattle ranch was located in the Indian-owned territory of Oklahoma before the state became a member of the US. The ranch is located near the city of Ponca. It was founded in 1893 by Colonel George Washington Miller, a Confederate Army veteran.

The ranch is the home of the Wild West Show, a rodeo/ cowboy show popularized by Bill Pickett, one of the ranch?s early performers. For its historic significance, the ranch was designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1975
