Located inside the Wallowa-Whitman National Forest is that Antlers Guard Station, a historic rustic style cabin that was built in 1935. It was initially designed to house the fire crew who patrols the said National Forest, as prior to its construction, most employees needed to travel miles just to get to their work sites. The guard station made the local rangers? work a lot easier as it easily cut their travel time and effort in more than half.

The Antlers Guard Station managed to survive the massive demolition that happened after the World War II. It was then restored in 1990s, which allowed it to be used as rented cabins today.

The Antlers Guard Station is now open for night rentals all year long. Visitors can book the historic cabin for up to seven days at a time.
