The Ashland Independent Film Festival is the only event in the northwest part and known to be one of top 20 events that got the grant given by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. It is an amazing attraction for numerous filmmakers not just the festival participants. It is also where you can find lots of celebrities and other documentary subjects in Ashland that would feature their work.

It is held at the five screens of the Varsity Theatre where other important special events are held too during various parts of the year particularly at the Historic Ashland Armory. It is one opportunity to not just see some of your idols but also the best films you can ever see in your life.
