The Benson State Recreation Area is a state park and recreation area in Cascade Locks, Oregon. It is located within the Mount Hood National Forest.

Located 30 miles east of Portland, the Benson State Recreation Area is named after Simon Benson, a lumber magnate, philanthropist, and one of the top promoters of the establishment of the Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway. Visitors of this park can easily enjoy a great amount of recreational activities including swimming, picnicking, fishing, and boating. Special events are also usually held at the park.

The Benson State Recreation Area is a day-use park that has the Benson Lake as its primary feature. No motorized boats are allowed at the lake. This makes it perfect for swimmers and rowboats.
