Also known as the Crawfordsville Bridge after the community that it is in, the Calapooia River Covered Bridge is another one of the many roofed spans in the state of Oregon. It was built in 1932 in the Linn County open truss style. It has narrow slit windows on both sides allowing some natural light to enter the structure.

The Calapooia River Covered Bridge has been enlarged later on by the State Highway department. It was done so bigger vehicles can be accommodated by the bridge. However, in 1963, the bridge was bypassed and the structure was passed on to the Linn County Parks and Recreation Department.

Restored a couple of times in the past due to the damages and years of little upkeep, the Calapooia River Covered Bridge still stands today as another excellent example of the state?s covered bridge heritage.
