Although, the Coast Fork Willamette River Covered Bridge isn’t exactly the most beautiful old covered span that you can lay your eyes on today, it is still one of the wonders of the state of Oregon. It was built around 1925 by the Oregon, Pacific, and Eastern Railroad so they can easily haul logs from the nearby sawmill.
Sadly, the use for the Coast Fork Willamette River Covered Bridge was put to a stop in 1943. This was due to the saw mill’s burning down accidentally. From that incident, the covered span was not used anymore. Since it was abandoned, it was targeted by arsonists, and it has a number of charred timbers to show some evidence. However, it still manages to stand today.
