No name is perhaps more befitting that what this landmark has now. The Crown Point is indeed a crown atop the promontory along the Columbia River Gorge. Beneath it is the breathtaking view of the majestic and historic river, as well as the surrounding landscape around it. The promontory rises up to 733 feet above the river. Crown Point is also the name of the state park associated with it.

Considered to be one of the most beautiful places to go to Oregon, Crown Point is located in Multnomah County a few miles east of Portland. The Crown Point?s crowning jewel is the Crown Point Vista House. This is a marble-and-brass building was built in 1916. It is one of the top tourist destinations along the historic Columbia River Highway. The Vista House was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
