Composed of 1.8 million acres, the Deschutes National Forest is a massive public site in the state of Oregon. It was established in 1908 from parts of the Fremont, Blue Mountains, and Cascade National Forests.

The Deschutes National Forest is a great site for those who want to explore nature. It has tons of natural features to offer, including 250 explored caves, six National Wild and Scenic Rivers, and five wilderness sites just to name a few. It is also the home to the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, Metolius Conservation Area, Paulina Creek Falls, Todd Lake, and the Oregon Cascade Recreation Area.

Visitors can enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, wildlife watching, and mountain biking inside the Deschutes National Forest. Some can also partake in the skiing and hiking activities offered by Mount Bachelor.
