The Flavel House Museum is situated in an 1885 Victorian mansion that is restored in Astoria. It was created by George Flavel who was a rich pilot in Columbia River. This house which was turned into a museum has all the art, d?cor and furnishing of the ancient past. What is most unique inside it is the six mantles for the fireplace that are designed with hardwood that is handcrafted.

Captain George Flavel will always serve as one of the most influential of all citizens in the city of Astoria. Majority of the interior woodwork right around the windows and doors and also along the staircases carry the influence of the Eastlake design.
