Located in Sunny Valley, the Grave Creek Covered Bridge is a beautiful site that motorists can catch a glimpse of while driving through Interstate 5. It was built in 1920 by J. Elmer Nelson. It was finished within four months and opened to traffic almost as immediately.

Like most covered spans in the state of Oregon, the Grave Creek Covered Bridge also uses a Howe truss system, supported by ?dumb bell? concrete piers. It is 105 feet long and had a total construction coast of more than $21,000.

In the late 1990s, the Grave Creek Covered Bridge was closed to traffic, but was later reopened in 2001 after restorations were completed. It is currently under the care of Josephine County.
