The Guy W. Talbot State Park traces its roots back to 1929 when the land of the park was donated by Guy Webster Talbot. It was originally used as a summer estate by the Talbot family before the 220 acres were donated to the state.

It is best noted for its unique feature, which is the fact that it drops straight down instead of tumbling from an overhanging basalt cliff.
