The Jacob Zimmerman House was a part of the former Zimmerman dairy farm built by the couple Jacob and Lena Zimmerman. The family they formed and relocated in Gresham, Oregon was among the five founding families of the Fairview community.
The Jacob Zimmerman House is a historically significant site in the area, as it has been in place even before the Multnomah County was formed. The house was built in 1874 as a part of a 600-acre dairy farm.
The Jacob Zimmerman House was home to the Zimmermans until 1992. In 1994, the construction of a public park, with the Zimmerman Heritage Farm as the centerpiece, commenced. Today, the site is open to visitors on a monthly schedule. More information can be found on the Fairview-Rockwood-Wilkes Historical Society?s official website.
