Also known as the Cedar Crossing Covered Bridge, the Johnson Creek Covered Bridge is technically not a covered bridge in the strictest sense. Since it doesn?t have truss support, it is actually something that is a representation of the state of Oregon?s commitment to its very rich history filled with covered bridge lore.

The Johnson Creek Covered Bridge was built in the early 1980s. Its construction was not out of need, but as an answer to Don Clark?s lobbying that a new covered span should be built. Clark was a former Multnomah County executive and a descendant of a pioneer, who has helped build a bridge across the Willamette River.

The Johnson Creek Covered Bridge was dedicated on a rainy day in 1982.
