The Lava River Cave is a lava tube in the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, located in the state of Oregon. It measures 5211 feet long, making it the longest continuous cave of its sort in the state.

The Lava River Cave was officially discovered in 1889 by pioneer hunters. However, archaeological research shows evidence that ancient Native Americans may have known about the site before the white man found it in the 19th century.

The Lava River Cave is believed to have formed 80,000 years ago from a volcanic eruption. Although, it is a public park, it is still run by the Forest Service. Tours are offered to those who want to explore the insides of the beautiful lava tube.
