The Oregon Zoo is found inside the Washington Park in Portland. It opened in 1887 when an animal collector donated his animals to the city.

All of its animals are separated by different areas of habitat and exhibits. Its Black Bear Ridge houses black bears and bobcats while the Eagle Canyon, surrounded by forest streams and rivers, serves as the habitat for bald eagles and coho salmon. The Cascade Stream and Pond serves as the zoo?s beaver den and the habitat of the otters and the Trillium Creek Family Farm is where visitors can find the pigs, goats, cows, and chickens.

The zoo also has its Zoo Loop, which is the zoo train travelling one mile around its grounds. It operates on weekends on certain months.
