The Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint is a state park and recreation area in Gold Beach, Oregon. It is located in the southern Oregon coast.

The Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint is also quite a historic site, as it is also a battlefield in 1856, where a decisive battle was fought. It got its name from an event during the infamous Rogue River Indian War, where a militia soldier lost his pistol in the river.

However, aside from its history, the Pistol River State Scenic Viewpoint is also noted for its stunning natural features, like its dunes and river system. This combination makes the area unique and the perfect place to spot birds. Recreational opportunities are also plenty, and the list includes ocean windsurfing, picnicking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, swimming, and wildlife viewing.
