Imagination comes alive. This is how the Portland Children’s Museum wants the children to experience and learn. This children’s museum is located at the Washington Park in Portland, Oregon near the Oregon Zoo. This museum was founded in 1946 as the Adventure House in Jacob Kamm mansion in Southwest Portland. In 2001, the museum was moved to its present location inside the Washington Park.

The museum is the sixth oldest museum for children in the world. Since 2001, the museum has attracted up to two million visitors. Accordingly, the museum’s mission is to “inspire imagination, creativity and the wonder of learning” in children as well as adults by inviting them to “moments of shared discovery”. The museum’s attractions include Water Works, Building Bridgetown, The Clay Studio, and The Wonder Corner.
