Spanning the Siuslaw River in Florence, Oregon is the Siuslaw River Bridge. This structure I a bascule bridge, built after the design of Conde McCullough by the Mercer-Fraser Company. The project was funded by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, now known as the Public Works Administration.

Opened in 1936, the Siuslaw River Bridge is a very notable structure for its excellent architecture. Being a product of the ingenuity of McCullough, this 1568 foot long bridge offers a great amount of decorative elements. On the top of the list are the Art-Deco obelisks that house the mechanical equipment and the bridge operator. It also has reinforced concrete tied arches and double-leaf bascules.

The Siuslaw River Bridge is built as a part of the five major structures done for the Oregon Coast Bridges Project in 1936.
