Oregon Attractions / Landmarks / Places > Myrtle Creek Email This Bookmark Print
The South Myrtle Creek Covered Bridge is quite notable for two reasons. One, it is one of the shortest covered spans in the state with its meager 42 feet in length, and its windows makes it appear to be even shorter. Two, it is the only roofed span in Oregon that uses a kingpost truss design.

Crossing the Myrtle Creek, the South Myrtle Creek Covered Bridge can be crossed by pedestrians with a weight limit of 5 tons. Its construction date is also being debated until today, as some say that it was completed in 1929 while a local claims to have helped work on the bridge?s construction in 1939.

The South Myrtle Creek Covered Bridge also has cross-wise plan flooring and a metal roof.
