Originally built in Thomas Creek in Linn County, the Stayton-Jordan Covered Bridge is now in Marion County, crossing the Salem Power Canal. It was acquired by the Stayton locals after the Linn County announced that they will replace the aging structure in 1986. The residents formed a preservation company with the help of volunteers and the Marine Corps? 6th Engineering Battalion reservists of Salem. The newly installed structure was dedicated in 1988.

Sadly, the salvaged bridge that was used as a foot bridge connecting two parks in the banks of the Salem Power Canal burned down in 1994. Luckily, it was replaced by a new covered bridge in 1998, which is what people today known as the Stayton-Jordan Covered Bridge.
