Also known as the Rock O? The Range Covered Bridge, the Swalley Canal Covered Bridge is a relatively young structure of the sort, being only completed in 1963. It is the only covered span that is located east of the Cascade Range.
The Swalley Canal Covered Bridge is a span built for private use. It was constructed in the property of William Bowen. He decided that his bridge that will cross the Swalley Canal should be covered after being inspired by the Goodpasture Bridge in Lane County.
Since the Swalley Canal Covered Bridge also didn?t use a truss support, it is technically not a true covered bridge. However, it still used an architecture style that is very unique to Oregon covered bridges, making it earn a spot in the line of such structures that are well loved by the state.
