One of the infamous Carnegie Libraries is located right in the city of The Dalles, Oregon. Known as The Dalles Carnegie Library, the historic public venue was constructed in 1910 under a $10,000 grant from Andrew Carnegie.

The Dalles Carnegie Library functioned as such until 1966. The next year, the building was leased to The Dalles Art Club and was then transformed to an art center. The organization acquired the building fully in 1997, when the city deeded the property to them.

Today, The Dalles Carnegie Library is now known as the The Dalles Art Center. Only minor changes have been done to the structure, and aside from that, it is still pretty much the same one built in the early 1900s.
