The city of Mt. Angel, Oregon is best known for its Oktoberfest festivities. As the area has some history of German settlers in the past, it isn’t surprising that they celebrate such occasions. At least 350,000 visitors flock to Mt. Angel for Oktoberfest annually.
In line with this festival, there are plans to create an Edelweiss Village, as proposed by the city government. One of the buildings that they have already built is the Glockenspiel, which is a restaurant and pub. It is fashioned after original European glockenspiels, and is the largest in the United States.
The Glockenspiel Restaurant and Pub is also a place to learn about the history of Mt. Angel. Inside, visitors will find eight sculptures of figures who play a part in the development of the city that people know now.
