The Umpqua Discovery Center serves the public as an educational and cultural resource through its dynamic and innovative contributions to the preservation of the Oregon "Tidewater Community" experience. The Center features interactive exhibits and programs that teach visitors the effects of land, water and people on each other.

Visitors to the center may even get a rewarding experience knowing that the Center has an award winning series of cultural history exhibits. Entitled "Tidewaters & Time", it tells the town?s unique history where the people lived based on whether the tide was coming in or going out.

Also within the Museum premises, visitors can take a look at the Community Room and sit down at the wooden benches that surround the 35' periscope. This area serves as a place for relaxing and enjoying the view of the Umpqua River.
The Umpqua Discovery Center is open from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. Guided tours, and group tours with programs are available as well as educational and outreach programs.
