The Willamette Mission State Park is a state park and recreation area in Gervais, Oregon. It is also a historic site, marking the area where the first mission for American Indians was founded in 1834.
Considered as one of the most beautiful and significant historic sites situated in the Willamette Valley, the Willamette Mission State Park contains the land where Reverend Jason Lee first established a mission for American Indians of the area. What remains today of the original mission may only be ghost structures, but they have contributed a lot to the establishment of the state of Oregon today.
Visitors of the Willamette Mission State Park can easily enjoy picnicking, wildlife viewing, hiking, fishing, biking, boating, horseback riding, and bird watching. There are also interpretive signs and programs telling folks more about the area?s history.
