Also known as the Brandywine Battlefield Historic Site, the Brandywine Battlefield Park is where the Battle of Brandywine took place in 1777. The entire place was actually a very critical area for the war, as it helped keep the British forces away, thanks to the Brandywine Creek that served as a moat and protected Pennsylvania from being seized by the Brits.

Inside the 50-acre Brandywine Battlefield Park, folks can find a series of historic structures. First of which is the Benjamin Ring House, which served as General George Washington?s headquarters. There?s also the Gideon Gilpin House, which was once served as Marquis de LaFayette?s quarters when he got wounded during the battle.
