The Fort Hunter Mansion is a plantation complex which was built during the nineteenth century that went through full restoration. It has a surrounding park that measures about 40 acres and overlooking the Blue Mountain Range and the Susquehanna River. Its grounds are made up of picnic pavilions, a walking area by the front side of the river and several children?s play equipment.

The archaeological excavations found at the Fort Hunter grounds were proofs of the attempt of the local government of the state to located the ancient and genuine remains of the Indian and French War fort. The recreational park also offers its barns up for rental to celebrate any kind of event. It is also very welcoming to many academic tours joined by a lot of students.
