Pittsburgh. The Steel City. The capital of the US steel industry. And the home city of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the National Football League?s only six-time Super Bowl Champion. This team calls the Heinz Field its home stadium.

Heinz Field is a multi-purpose stadium in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Aside from the Steelers, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers of the NCAA also calls it home. The stadium is located at the historic Art Rooney Avenue and it overlooks the Ohio River. The stadium was named after the famous condiments company, the H.J. Heinz Company, who acquired the naming rights in 2001.

This $281 million dollar-stadium was opened on August 8, 2001. The Steelers moved here after spending years at the old Three Rivers Stadium. The city?s history of steel production is represented in the design as 12,000 tons of steel were used during the construction.
