The Indian Echo Caverns of Pennsylvania are actually 440-million-year-old limestone caves and with a constant temperature of 52 degrees throughout the year. Inside the cave, you?ll find a maze of rooms filled with underground beauty and wonder. You?ll also be introduced to various cave-inhabiting species. The troglophiles, which are species that use the caves as their seasonal shelter, include bears, raccoons, and bats. The troglobites, which are species living all year long inside the caves, include blind fish, crustaceans, and several insect species. There are also various species of fungi and bacteria.

After visiting the caverns, you can then take your kids to the Gem Mill Junction, where they can play the role of Gold Rush prospectors and look for gemstones or even fossils. Indian Echo Caverns offer also two covered picnic areas, a petting zoo, and playground.
