The National Apple Museum is owned and operated by the Biglerville Historical and Preservation Society. Housed in a restored pre-Civil War bank barn, it contains artifacts pertaining to the history and contributions to the Adams County development of the Apple and Tree Fruit Industry. It has exhibits that depict the process of picking, packing, and shipping apples as well as pest management, commercial fruit processing equipment, and early orchard photographs. It also recreated an 1880’s farm kitchen and a General Store.
Other items that can be found here include farming implements, peelers, fruit labels, and other kinds of memorabilia.
The Museum is open from May to October every year, from Saturday to Sunday. It is available for group tours provided that there is a scheduled appointment.
